Job Description
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting the Vice Chancellor in researching and publishing;
- Undertaking research and publishing as a scholar;
- Writing speeches for Vice Chancellor as assigned;
- Proof reading speeches from units intended use by Vice Chancellor;
- Undertaking researches that enable management to make informed decisions;
- Attending conferences to disseminate research findings and cross-pollinate ideas with other researchers;
- Taking responsibility to manage and conduct administrative and management tasks associated with research; and
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the Vice Chancellor
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A Professor (Full or Associate);
- An earned PhD (preferably in an ODeL related area);
- A minimum of four (4) years of managing operations in an educational setting;
- Experience in working in a university setting, especially Open and Distance Electronic Learning will have an added advantage;
- Knowledge of research computer packages will be an added advantage; and
- Computer literacy a must.
