Job Description

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Preparing and distributing examination timetables to all stakeholders;
  2. Monitoring production, proof reading, printing and dispatching Examination Question papers to Regional Centres;
  3. Supervising the collection and sorting of examinations answer scripts.
  4. Supervising the capturing of coursework and examinations marks and quality assuring of examinations related documents;
  5. Servicing University Senate Committee meetings to ratify results;
  6. Servicing Appeals and Students Disciplinary Committee meetings;
  7. Preparing, processing and dispatching Transcripts and Certificates of graduands;
  8. Maintaining a database of serial numbers for released certificates;
  9. Investigating and resolving students’ queries;
  10. Monitor the writing of examinations;
  11. Managing examinations records;
  12. Compiling lists of students requesting for deferments;
  13. Effecting Senate decisions on request to defer examinations;
  14. Informing students about the outcome of their requests to defer examinations;
  15. Maintaining a database of all requests to defer examinations;
  16. Checking publication lists of result; and
  17. Carrying out any other duties as may be assigned by the Manager, Examinations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business or Social Sciences;
  2. Master’s degree in Educational Management, Social Sciences or Master in Business Administration (MBA) will be an added advantage.
  3. A sound knowledge of University Operations;
  4. Good communication skills.
  5. Two (2) years experience in school administration with specific reference to the administration of examinations; and
  6. Experience in the administration of University examinations particularly in open learning institution will be an added advantage.
