MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Leading in the development and launching of new programmes;
- Developing and producing of distance Teaching and Open Learning materials including writing modules;
- Developing, designing, outlining, reviewing or rebranding a minimum of one (1) programme per year;
- Able to conduct a minimum of two (2) tutorials per semester;
- Carrying out applied research to develop innovations for industrialisation;
- Promoting the University wide initiatives;
- Establishing partnerships with industry and local communities;
- Engaging in community service;
- Interfacing with other Faculties;
- Engaging in University service; and
- Carrying out any other duties as assigned by the Dean.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A minimum qualification of a Master of Science Degree in Climate Change and Sustainable Development or any other related qualification;
- A Bachelor of Science Honours in Geography and Environmental Studies/ Science and related qualifications in Environmental Management from a recognized University;
- Possession of a PhD in any of the areas stated above is an added advantage;
- A minimum of two (2) years teaching experience in an institution of Higher Learning is a requirement;
- Knowledge of distance education would be an added advantage;
- Practical knowledge and experience in mapping resources using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing technology is an added advantage;
- Approved consultancy and research experience in Geography and or Environmental Studies/Science.

- Good leadership qualities;
- High level of motivation and commitment to duty; and,
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
