Best Final Year Project - Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering 2023
Applied Capstone Project: Automated Black Soldier Fly Farm using IoT and Computer Vision (Awarded the Best Computer/Electrical and Electronic Engineering Project) Period: September 2022 - May 2023 • Developed an innovative solution that automates the regulation and control of environmental conditions for Black Soldier Fly farming. The developed system utilizes IoT technology and Computer Vision techniques to monitor and adjust temperature, humidity, lighting intensity and moisture content in real time. The system collects data from sensors placed in the farm and send it to a cloud- based database. Through a web dashboard and a mobile application, farmers can remotely monitor the conditions, control actuators and receive notifications. It also incorporates computer vision through a live video feed to monitor larval health based on its activity and motion. Notifications are also sent to a mobile application to alert farmers on feeding needs and when larvae is ready for collection. For more info visit: www.flysol.netlify.app
